A sequel to 2014 action film "Need for Speed" is in the works as a US-China co-production.

A team-up between China Movie Channel, Jiaflix, 1905.com and game publisher Electronic Arts will see the follow-up film shot largely in China using local talent, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The 2014 movie, based on Electronic Arts' successful street-racing games, starred Aaron Paul as Tobey Marshall, an auto mechanic on a quest for revenge.

It earned more than $200 million worldwide, with more than $65 million of that coming from China.
