The actor will play a mafia boss in "Jersey Boys." Inspired by the highly successful Broadway musical of the same name, the film will delve into the story behind Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Deadline.com reveals.

At 70, Christopher Walken will take on the role of Angelo DeCarlo in the new feature film from Warner Bros. and GK Films. The New Jersey-based criminal served as a mentor and consigliore for the young Italian-American singers who came together to form The Four Seasons. The film's producers have sought out new talent to play the famous musicians, and the actors' names should be revealed over the coming weeks.

Shooting on "Jersey Boys" will begin this September in Los Angeles. Four Seasons founding members Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio will participate in the production of the film, which will cover the career highlights of the legendary 1960s band.

The film will feature all of the band's classic standards, such as "Can't Take My Eyes off You," "December, 1963 (Oh What a Night)" and "Beggin'."
