Actress Lydiawati claimed she had her own reasons for hitting a tomboy, as seen in two videos shared on her Facebook account.

In explaining the incident in her Facebook post on Friday, Lydiawati, whose real name is Salina Saimon, said the individual often harassed her, causing emotional stress to her and her family.

Without going into detail on what the individual did, Lydiawati said the former's actions caused her to experience trauma and feeling unsafe, even at her own home.

The actress said she is open to public criticism for her actions, and expressed hoped that the incident would be a lesson to anyone who possess bad intentions.

In the two videos with a duration of 1 minute and 30 seconds that went viral, Lydiawati – who became popular in the 1980s and 1990s – was seen expressed her anger while hitting and kicking the tomboy.

The 'Darah Satria' actress has since lodged a police report over the incident.

As reported by The Malay Mail Online on Thursday, Lydiawati said she could not stand being harassed daily by the tomboy's calls and text messages which were laden with sexual innuendos.
