Isaac Martinez, 20, who works at Bistro 13 restaurant in Mesa, Arizona in the United States was approached by a man who forced him to hand over the keys to his car.
When the catering student refused to do so, the man allegedly shot him. Martinez fell to the ground and the suspect managed to get away with the car.
Martinez quickly got up and took a selfie photo with ribbons of blood flowing down his shoulder and posted it on the Snapchat application.

Martinez was then rushed to the hospital and later uploaded another photo of himself in a hospital bed, with his gunshot wound visible.
He was released after being treated. But the 'joy' of sharing didn't end there.
Later on Facebook, he updated his status to his 1,200 friends.
"So I'm home and well! I have no complicated injuries and should heal fine.
"I had a bullet hit me from behind and go through my shoulder and out my collar area. Any higher or lower it coulda hit a artery, or shatter my shoulder blade. It was a miracle hit," he wrote.
Martinez also described the whole experience.
"He came in and demanded my keys for a getaway car. Of course I said no, and next was him pulling out a gun and cocking it. Soon as I saw it I started stepping back. And yelled for everyone to step back and get down," he said.
Martinez said, the next thing he knew he was hitting the ground, and got up immediately. At the same time the assailant had started taking off in the car.
"When I saw he had gone. I noticed the cops and fire trucks down the street and went there," he wrote.
The suspect was later identified as Ryan Elliot Giroux. The 40-something man had served five years in Arizona prison for a number of charges, including second degree burglary and marijuana possession.
