Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd's pre-tax profit for the third quarter (Q3) ended Oct 31, 2016 rose to RM208.75 million from RM136.52 million recorded in the same period last year.

Revenue increased 3.6 per cent to RM1.42 billion from RM1.37 billion previously due to an increase in subscription, advertising, home-shopping and other revenue, the broadcast satellite pay television service provider said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.

"The group is executing its key strategy of growing revenue by providing differentiated content and a diverse range of products and services.

"With these initiatives, we target to retain our customer base amid the soft consumer market," the company added.
