Samsung Malaysia Electronics Sdn Bhd has rolled out its mobile payment service, 'Samsung Pay' through strategic partnerships with banks and merchants in its quest to provide cashless service.

Samsung Malaysia Electronics and Maybank have collaborated to introduce the Samsung Pay contactless mobile payment service.

Samsung announced that Samsung Pay would be available as early as the second quarter of 2016 in Singapore.

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd said its Samsung Pay user data is safe after a hacking attack against a US-based subsidiary that developed a key technology for its newly-launched mobile payments system.

Samsung Pay, a technology to be rolled out in the US later this month will allow customers to pay for goods by simply placing their handsets on or next to a point-of-sale terminal.
