Terengganu-born players who are now with several leading teams in the National Hockey League and the national team have been urged to join the state team in the National Hockey League
championship next season.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said said many Terengganu players were currently representing leading teams in the National Hockey League and they could assist the state team which would be participating in the championship for the first time.

"The Terengganu Hockey Association (PHNT) will discuss with the Malaysian Hockey Association on the conditions to participate in the championship," he told reporters after presenting incentives to players and
officials of the Terengganu hockey team which won the 50th Tun Razak Cup hockey championship in Kuantan on Monday.

In that regard, he said as an appreciation of PHNT, the state government today gave RM3,000 as incentive to each player and official and if the state hockey team continued to win in future, the incentive would be increased further.
