Jazeman Jaafar, a PETRONAS Talent Development Programme driver, arrives in Germany today ahead of this weekend’s round of the Formula Renault 3.5 Series which races in to the famous Nurburgring.

The double header weekend of racing action will see Jazeman back out in his Fortec Motorsport race car chasing down championship points at the German circuit.

Following a challenging British round in Silverstone last week, he is determined to get back to the top of the leaderboard.

“We struggled with reliability over the last few rounds, so the team has put lots of work into their preparations for this race weekend and I think we’re in good shape. I really need a strong weekend, starting with productive practice sessions and blistering qualifying laps.

"I’ve put behind me the disappointment of Silverstone and I’m really confident we can bounce back with a
performance which puts us where we need to be, and that’s definitely up the front,” he said.

Of Nurburgring, Jazeman adds, “It’s a great track, it’s quite challenging and not dissimilar to the Silverstone circuit, so we should have a good car.

"The weather is probably the biggest unknown for us and is always a factor that we have to consider when we’re looking at set up. As long as we have the reliability I think there’s no reason why we can’t get up the front.”

Jazeman, Malaysia’s leading young international driver is one of seven contender in the title fight and although the two front-runners have the advantage, he is committed to challenging for a big haul of points, getting back into third place as a priority for him.
