KUALA LUMPUR: Defending Super League champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) thrashed Penang FC 3-0 last night, while the action between Sabah FC and Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC was affected due to bad weather in Kota Kinabalu.

The Southern Tigers' second victory over Penang FC this season sees them with 30 points after 13 matches, while the Black Panthers remain in fourth place with 22 points.

JDT opened the scoring through winger Muhammad Safawi Rasid who put in a cross from teammate Safiq Rahim in the 15th minute, while Brazilian import striker Bergson da Silva scored in the 43rd minute from an S. Kunanlan assist.

National naturalised player Mohamadou Sumareh scored in the 51st minute after being brought on in the second half by JDT head coach Benjamin Mora.

The match also saw Anselmo Arruda da Silva, or better known as Casagrande, receive a second yellow card in the 88th minute, while coach Tomas Trucha was shown the red card in the 89th minute.

Meanwhile, the match at the Likas Stadium between Sabah FC and KDA FC had to be stopped for almost an hour due to heavy rain, and ended with a 1-0 victory for KDA FC through Kpah Sherman's goal in the 79th minute.

The victory lifted KDA FC to second place in the Super League with 26 points, while Sabah FC, which suffered its first defeat in six matches, remained in seventh place with 16 points.

At the UiTM Stadium in Shah Alam, an injury-time equaliser by experienced defender Muhammad Shukor Adan saw Kuala Lumpur City FC finish 1-1 against hosts UiTM FC.

Meanwhile, PDRM FC recorded its third Premier League victory this season after a 1-0 victory over Selangor FC 2 at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Cheras.
