Chelsea are looking to avenge a 2-1 defeat away to Shakhtar Donetsk in Group E of the Champions League.

The Ukrainian side are currently top of the group and their domestic league.

The London club are no longer top of the Premier League after a 1-1 draw with Swansea and a 3-2 loss to Manchester United.

It has been a difficult few weeks for Chelsea and manager Roberto Di Matteo - from losing key playmaker Juan Mata to injury to John Obi Mikel alleging a racist remark was made by referee Mark Clattenburg in that defeat to Man United.

Matters for Di Matteo were compounded on Tuesday (6th November) morning when the former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola was linked to his position in the English press.

But the Italian said he had the full backing of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

John Terry is available for selection against Shakhtar after serving his four-match ban.

Defender David Luiz and midfielder Juan Mata both trained but Roberto Di Matteo said they still may miss the game through injury.

Ashley Cole will not play as he has a hamstring problem and Frank Lampard is also still out.
