There was no untoward incident happened on nomination day for the 82 state seats contested in the 11th Sarawak State Election as it closes at 10am this morning.

The nomination process lasted for an hour from 9am.

It will be a straight fight for Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem, who is up against PKR candidate Jazolkipli Numan for the Tanjung Datu state seat.

The returning officer for each constituency will announce the candidates eligible to contest in the election.

Polling is on May 7.

The election is being held following the dissolution of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly on April 11.

The state now has 82 assembly seats, whereby 11 new seats were created following the redelineation exercise.
