All UMNO divisions in Johor have been asked to identify and list the names of their members who are believed to be linked or involved with the formation of the new political party called Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

Johor UMNO Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said this was to ensure that all efforts to strengthen the party to face the 14th general election would not get disorganised.

Mohamed Khaled, who is also Menteri Besar, said he had received a report linking party members in the state to the new party and that some names were also being viralised on the social media as having sponsored or promoted the new party.

"As such, I now call on all UMNO divisions to make a list (of members involved or linked to the new party) and send the list to UMNO headquarters for further action.

"If there are members who are really involved (in the new party), they have to take a stand...they shouldn't have anything to do with UMNO anymore," he told reporters after chairing Johor UMNO Liaison Committee meeting here Friday.

Former deputy prime minister and UMNO deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, recently claimed that many UMNO members were keen on joining the new party but were not prepared to pledge their support openly.
