Their experience in handling crisis has motivated Terengganu UMNO members to work hard to increase its membership.

Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman said there was a blessing behind each problem and this had given the strength to the party machinery to prepare for the general election.

"It is the result of the hard work of all, every crisis and problem in Terengganu has been resolved. The Terengganu machinery is on the right track and in the best shape.

"We will not look back and we will move to face the general election," he told Bernama after the launch of the 2016 UMNO General Assembly here today.

Earlier, in his policy speech, UMNO President Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak praised UMNO Terengganu for getting the highest number of new memberships, at 9,787 as of October this year.

The Kuala Nerus UMNO division recorded the highest number of new members, at 2,876.

Ahmad Razif who is also the state UMNO Liaison Chairman said the acknowledgement from the Prime Minister motivated and lifted the spirits of the Terengganu UMNO members to work even harder.

He said Najib's policy speech was also a reminder to the party leaders that UMNO's formula for its 70 years has been loyalty to the party, and this would help it to face future challenges. - BERNAMA
