KUALA LUMPUR:Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali should stop lying and distorting the truth, said Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) pro-tem Information Chief, Ulya Aqamah Husamudin.

Ulya claimed that the Perikatan Nasional (PN) was a plan devised by Azmin with Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and not the idea of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“A few days before the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Presidential Council meeting, you (Azmin) provided information that there was a ploy to overthrow Dr Mahathir during the meeting.

"You said that if something happens, you will leave the meeting as a show of dissatisfaction.

"But during the Pakatan Harapan meeting, what you said did not happen.

“PH agreed to give full support to Dr Mahathir and hold discussions on the right transition plans. And you did not come out during the meeting," he claimed in a statement on Sunday.

In a newspaper interview on Sunday, Azmin was reported to have said that the plan to form PN came from Dr Mahathir himself because he wanted to be the prime minister supported by MPs from all parties.

Ulya claimed Dr Mahathir had proved that Azmin's accusation was wrong in the Bersatu Supreme Council Meeting and it did not make sense to leave PH when PH gave full support at that time.

"Muhyiddin was still working on pushing his agenda and convincing Dr Mahathir that he (Dr Mahathir) will remain the prime minister for PN.

"Dr Mahathir also clearly stated that he did not want to break his promise and could not accept being a prime minister supported by kleptocrats.

"Unfortunately, Muhyiddin is supported by many people who want to leave PH, including blackmailing (groups) from "Muhajirin" (former UMNO members who joined Bersatu)," he claimed.

Ulya claimed that the meeting ended with members agreeing to leave the decision to Dr Mahathir.

He further claimed that Dr Mahathir had then told Muhyiddin to cancel any meeting plans with the palace, Mohamed Azmin’s group, UMNO and PAS which had been planned by Muhyiddin without consent.

"However, instead of cancelling all these plans, Muhyiddin and Azmin continued the ploy that led to the rally at Sheraton (Hotel). After finding that out, Dr Mahathir sent Syed Saddiq (Syed Abdul Rahman) to express his opposition.

"(However) after losing control of his own party due to Muhyiddin's betrayal as president, Dr Mahathir saw that with or without his consent, Muhyiddin and Azmin would continue to overthrow PH.

"Dr Mahathir who did not want to break his promise for a transition and did not want to be part of the Sheraton Move, then resigned as prime minister," he claimed.

Ulya said Mohamed Azmin should stop giving narratives according to his plan.
