Property developer, Worldwide Holdings Bhd, aims to complete the seven phases of its 50.2-hectare Puncak Bestari project, in Puncak Alam, Selangor, by 2017.

The project, with a gross development value of RM320 million, comprises lakes, bungalows, semi-detached homes, terrace houses and commercial properties.

Acting Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Azman Azizul Rahman said the group wanted to create a new township in Puncak Alam and provide more affordable housing for the people.

He said the first phase of the project comprising 25 units of commercial offices and 136 units of double-storey terrace homes, was sold out soon after its launch last year.

"We received an overwhelming response in the first phase launch. We are confident that sales for the second and following phases will be as good as the first," he added.

He was speaking to reporters after the launch of the second phase of the project during the Puncak Bestari Family Carnival here.

Worldwide Holdings is a holding company with a portfolio that rests on four core businesses, namely, property development and management, environmental management services, investment holding and medical devices manufacturing.

According to Ahmad Azman, the second phase of the project will comprise 23 units of commercial offices, 48 units of semi-detached homes and 40 units of bungalows.

"The commercial office space has been sold out. Only about 20 per cent of the semi-detached homes and bungalows have yet to be sold," he said.

The commercial offices are priced from RM676,699, and the semi-detached homes from RM685,306, while the bungalows are from RM820,156.

He said the group plans to launch the third phase of the project in early 2014, which will consist of 208 units of terrace house.

"Tesco, the world's third-largest retailer, has also agreed to set up its outlet in Puncak Bestari and the project is ongoing.

"With the Tesco outlet, we are confident that this Puncak Bestari project will attract more buyers or investors," he added.

Ahmad Azman said that McDonald's had also just started its business in the township which is accessible via the Guthrie Corridor, Latar Highway, Jalan Batu Arang, Jalan Sungai Buloh and Jalan Meru.

It is situated 20km away from the Shah Alam town centre, 13km from Bukit Jelutong and only 3km away from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Puncak Alam.

Its special features include a low-density of only seven units per hectare, large built-up areas at affordable prices and inner roads that are 16.5 metres wide.
