A rubber tapper was seriously injured when gored by a wild boar at a rubber plantation in Felda Lubuk Merbau, Padang Terap, here today.
The incident occurred at 9.45 am while Zuraini Fadzil, 46, was tapping the rubber trees.
"The boar suddenly hurtled towards me and I screamed. While trying to flee, I tripped and fell. The boar continued to attack me until my husband came and chased it away," she told reporters at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital here, today.
Her husband, Zulkifli Daud, 45, said he rushed to his wife's aid after hearing her screams.
"I saw a deep gash on her left arm and took her to nearby clinic, but was asked to take her to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for further treatment," he said.
