Two men have been detained to facilitate investigations into a molotov cocktail attack at a nightclub in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya on Monday.

The suspects, in their 30s, were picked up about 5.30pm yesterday in Petaling Jaya.

In a statement here today, Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din, said the police obtained a four-day remand from the Petaling Jaya magistrate's court to detain the duo, beginning today, to assist in the investigations.

A Bangladeshi worker, in his 30s, was injured in the 4.15pm attack after one of two molotov cocktails which were hurled in front of the nightclub's counter, exploded.

In another development, the police detained two brothers for allegedly attacking and robbing an Indonesian woman who was walking home in Sungai Way, Petaling Jaya last night.

Mohd Zani said the victim was walking alone in Jalan SS 9/7 about 9.30pm when one of the men punched her in the face while the other snatched her cell phone.

He said one of the suspects was apprehended by the public at the scene of the crime after the victim screamed for help, while the other was nabbed in Jalan 9A/9, Seri Setis at 11.15pm.

The police recovered a Samsung Galaxy J from one of the suspects.

The brothers, aged 23 and 25, from Lahad Datu, Sabah were remanded for four days. -- BERNAMA
