Three people died in a fatal road accident involving three vehicles in Jalan Pontian Besar, Parit Sikom, Johor on Monday around 10.45pm.

The three vehicles involved were a Perodua Kelisa, Perodua Viva, and a Nissan Serena.

Pontian OCPD, Zahaliman Jamim, said that a Perodua Kelisa coming from Pontian heading to Parit Sikom went into the opposite lane and collided with a Nissan Serena.

“The driver of the Perodua Kelisa and his two children died at the scene when a Perodua Viva from Pontian hit the Perodua Kelisa from the back,” said Zahaliman.

He added that the highway was foggy when the accident occurred.

“The case will be investigated under Section 41(1) Road Transport Act 1987. It was reported that the driver of the Nissan Serena suffered minor injuries however the driver of the Perodua Viva did not suffer any injuries at all,” said Zahaliman.
