A teenage girl who was found dead at an oil palm plantation in Permatang Tinggi here on Friday had sustained multiple stab and slash wounds.

A post-mortem revealed the unidentified victim, believed to be Indonesian and in her late teens, was stabbed once on the neck, seven times on the abdomen and slashed on the wrists.

Classifying the case as murder, Seberang Perai Tengah police chief ACP Rusli Mohd Noor said the teenager was probably murdered elsewhere before the body was dumped at the plantation.

He said the girl, clad in pink floral blouse and batik sarong was believed to have died more than 24 hours.

"No personal identification document was found on the body and we are trying to contact her next-of-kin," he said when contacted by Bernama on Saturday.
