Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad continued to receive the trust of the Johor Baharu UMNO division when he was returned as the division head in the party election this time.

Shahrir, 64, who was challenged for the first time after holding the post for the past 31 years, receieved 396 votes while his two challengers, Datuk Ahmad Kemin polled 137 votes and Zulkifli Ismail (16).

This was announced by the permanent chairman of the Johor Baharu umno division, Daud Mohd Noor.
