The Sabah Education Department has identified the teacher who allegedly set up a Whatsapp group and uploaded obscene videos for viewing by its members.

Its director, Datuk Jame Alip, said investigation was in progress and action would be taken against the teacher concerned.

"We will not compromise and will take stern action against the teacher for tarnishing the image of the department and the profession.

"As a teacher, the person concerned should not indulge in immoral act and breach the ethics of the profession," he told reporter during a surprise visit to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Tun Juhar here yesterday.

Jame was on a visit to several boarding schools in the district to check on their cleanliness.

He said he was happy with the cleanliness at the schools concerned, like the dining hall and the kitchen.

He advised food operators at school hostels in the district to stock up their supply for at least three days in preparation for any possibilities.

They should also emphasise on hygiene, quality of food and cleanliness of the dining hall, the kitchen area and also of the food handlers to avoid food poisoning, he added.
