Police have ruled out foul play in the case of two children who were killed in a fire at Taman Tanjung Minyak in Malacca on Friday.

In the 5.30pm incident, firefighters found Nur Maisarah Balqis Rosghazali, 7 and her sister Nur Qhalisha, burnt to death in a state of embrace.

State CID chief, ACP Kamaluddin Kassim said, no criminal elements had been found in relation to the fire.

The victims will be buried at the Tanjung Minyak Muslim Cemetery after a post-mortem is conducted at the Malacca Hospital.

The victims’ mother, who is currently working as a nurse in Saudi Arabia, is expected to arrive in the country on Saturday.

The children’s father is currently being treated at the intensive care unit of the Malacca Hospital for burns sustained while trying to save his daughters.
