The Ministry of Information Communication and Culture is satisfied with the free installation of the Astro Njoi for the benefit of more than 10,000 Orang Asli settlers in the interior areas of Hulu Kelantan since July last year.

Information Department Director-General Datuk Ibrahim Abdul Rahman said the installation of more than 300 decoders in stages together with the television sets for Astro Njoi in the Orang Asli settlement had enabled the community to enjoy clear reception of TV programmes.

"This enables them to receive messages and information from the government accurately through the television transmission," he told reporters after launching the 'Program Kembara Jalinan Kasih' organised by the department at Pos Gob, here today.

Ibrahim said the only problem faced by the community now was electricity supply because currently, power supply was provided using generators which were inadequate.

He said that due to the problem of electricity supply, the Astro Njoi was being installed at the settlements' focal points such as the community halls.

On the 'Program Kembara Jalinan Kasih', he said it aimed to look at the problems faced by the Orang Asli community, including those living in the remote interior areas, and to address these problems.
