The windows of nine cars parked in Taman Dato Harun along the New Pantai Expressway were broken and valuables in the vehicles stolen.

The incident was discovered at about 4.30 am and involved, among others, two Perodua MyVi, a Proton Gen 2, a Proton Wira, a Proton Waja and a Nissan Sentra.

The owner of one the cars, Subramaniam, 33, said he was informed of the incident at about 6.30 am by neighbours who had suffered the same fate.

"Usually we park the car in front of the house but since relatives were visiting our neighbours last night for Hari Raya, the parking lot was full and we parked the car at a distance from the house," he told Bernama when met at the scene of the incident.

"As a result of the incident, I have incurred a loss of about RM4,000 which includes the cost of my SmartTag (RM280), car speakers (subwoofer) and power amplifiers," he said.

Laili Azura Abdul Rahman, 37, said she only became aware of the burglary when her brother wanted to leave for Melaka at 6 am and they found both their cars broken into.

Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed confirmed the incident.
