Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin took a break from his busy schedule to visit ailing former Kedah Menteri Besar Tan Sri Azizan Abdul Razak at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital here today.

Muhyiddin and his wife, Puan Sri Noraini Abdul Rahman, who were accompanied by Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir and his wife, Datin Norzieta Zakaria, were greeted by hospital director Datuk Dr Juita Ghazalie when they arrived at 3.15pm.

Azizan, who had both legs amputated on May 10 due to chronic diabetes complications, was transferred from the Penang Hospital to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital last week.

He was sworn in as Sungai Limau assemblyman at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital on Wednesday.

Azizan's wife, Puan Sri Faeqah Sheikh Hamzah and their fifth child, Muhammad Rafi'iy were present during Muhyiddin's visit, said Azizan's former political secretary Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

"Tan Sri is in good condition and he talked with the deputy prime minister although he is quite weak. On behalf of Tan Sri's family, I would like to thank the DPM for taking time off to visit Tan Sri," Muhammad Sanusi told reporters afterwards.
