Motorists have been urged to plan their travel according to the travel time advisory (TTA) issued by Plus while travelling on the North-South Expressway (NSE) ahead of the Chinese New Year break which begins this weekend.

The guide is expected to divide the traffic flow effectively and minimise the possible traffic congestion on the NSE, especially during the peak hours.

Plus Malaysia Berhad managing director Datuk Norizah Abdul Rahman said the TTA will help motorists plan their journey as there will be an increase of 30 percent of vehicles during the period.

The Chinese New Year celebration begins on February 10 but many are expected to start their journey on Friday ahead of the reunion dinner on Saturday.

“We need to divide the traffic flow. Otherwise, it could cause a massive congestion on the expressway,” said Norizah.

She added the introduction of the TTA guide has proven to be effective based on past experiences.
