Mother's Day, which is celebrated on every second Sunday of May, is especially meaningful for those who become mothers today.

It is reported that 29 babies were delivered in several government and private hospitals in the national capital and Klang Valley as at 11am.

Kuala Lumpur Hospital's maternity hall witnessed eight deliveries, including four baby girls, with the first delivery recorded at 1.38am, a hospital spokesman told Bernama.

In Ampang Hospital, six baby girls and three baby boys were delivered as at 9.43am while 11 babies were born at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.

Meanwhile, Pusrawi Hospital only recorded one delivery, a baby boy at 9.19am.
