The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has a list of cases of abuse of power and corruption that will be investigated or charged in court on weekly basis.
Its chief commissioner, Datuk Dzulkifli Ahmad said it was only a matter of time before action to be taken against those involved.
"We already have a list of the individuals involved, just wait and see our next course of action," he told Bernama and Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) after officiating MACC Ziarah Kasih programme in Kampung Manik Urai, here, Saturday.
He declined to reveal the identity of the individuals concerned
Dzulkifli said he promised Malaysians that at least one case would be investigated or prosecuted in weekly basis to free the country from corruption and abuse of power within the next three years.
"Thus far, I have not been discouraged or failed to carry out my promise. If you look at current development , not only one case a week, but up to two, three cases are investigated and prosecuted in court."
"We will take action from time to time so I ask for support from all Malaysians as we only have a strength of only 1,900 personnel and officers to keep an eye on 1.6 million civil servants," he said.
He welcomed the statement from Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi that law enforcement officers under his ministry who asked for bribe would be arrested.
Dzulkifli hopes other ministries would take proactive measures to nab the corrupt.
