KUALA LUMPUR: The COVID-19 infectivity rate (Rt), based on daily cases nationwide, rose to 0.94 today, from 0.92 reported yesterday, with Labuan registering the highest Rt at 1.05.

According to data shared by Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, on his Twitter account, Sabah recorded the second highest Rt at 1.04, followed by Negeri Sembilan (1.03) and Sarawak (1.01).

Kelantan recorded the lowest Rt of 0.76.

Among other states that recorded readings below 1.0 were Kuala Lumpur (0.99), Johor (0.97), Selangor (0.96), Melaka (0.89), Penang (0.86), Putrajaya and Kedah (0.85), Perak (0.84), Pahang (0.82) and Terengganu (0.80).

The Rt value refers to the level of infectiousness of a COVID-19 case, i.e. how many can be infected by one positive case.
