The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) took a proactive step in meeting people's concerns by offering a job to Siti Fatimah Mohd Nor after a post of her riding a motorcycle from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh went viral on social media.

Siti Fatimah, 26, who is the wife of former para-athlete tennis player Firdaus Ibrahim received the appointment letter as a part-time employee at Perak KPDNHEP from the Minister, Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi.

When met by the media at the KPDNHEP Prihatin event yesterday, Siti Fatimah who will be reporting for duty on June 22, expressed her gratitude and would use this golden opportunity to gain experience in the civil service.

"I never expected this at all. I consider this to be the most valuable 'rezeki' after tying a knot in August last year. Thank you to KPDNHEP for giving me this chance to serve with them," she said.

On June 14, Firdaus, who is also a person with disabilities (OKU) shared a heartwarming moment when his wife escorted him back on a motorcycle from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh to ensure their shifting process went smooth.

While Siti Fatimah was riding the motorcycle, her husband was driving a modified car to the needs of the disabled following closely behind to ensure her safety.

Meanwhile, Nanta also congratulated Siti Fatimah for her determination to ride a bike for a long journey and hoped she would use the opportunity in the best possible manner.
