The Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (Ready to Wear) 2014, KLFW2014 raised its curtains officially on Monday when Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz arrived in style in a Maseratti at the official venue in Pavillion Bukit Bintang.

This official launch marked the second consecutive year for Malaysia’s most notable fashion event.

An affiliation with Tourism Malaysia and organised by Andrews Models, this year’s KLFW will feature 80 Malaysian fashion designers in their quest to enhance their business and the retail industry.

Andrew Tan, the founder of KLFW 2014 and Andrews Model said that the main focus for KLFW is to put forward a B2C (Business to consumer) platform which allows designers to connect with their clients.

This year, consumers will expect to feast their fashion senses on The Runway Collection which means a selection of runway-worthy new collection that has yet to premier to the mass market by non-seasonal designers as well as the debut of the Fall collection for designers who already have their designs exported.

Tan supported by the Tourism Malaysia, also aimed to broaden the quality and the standard of Malaysian ready-to wear designs and retail industry to a greater height by bringing in South East Asia's notable fashion designers like Sleeping Pills of Thailand, Ghea Panggabean of Indonesia, Anthony Ramirez from the Philippines and Still from Singapore.

With the tagline, 'Malaysia for The World', KLFW is also aimed at gathering more international appeal to attract revenue for the industry.

KLFW 2014 will strut the runway at Pavillion Bukit Bintang from June 18 to June 22, 2014.
