Police have urged the public with information on an accident early this month at Jalan Duta Mas in Kuala Lumpur, especially the owner of a white Toyota Estima who had stopped to look at the incident, to come forward.

City CID chief Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said in a statement today, police believe the incident on Sept 4 at 7.51am is related to the abduction and murder of deputy public prosecutor Anthony Kevin Morais.

“The accident, which occurred on Sept 4 at about 7.51am, is believed to be connected with the abduction of the late Kevin Morais,” he said.

Those with information on the incident could also contact any police station or the KL police hotline at 03-2115 9999.

Police have also arrested another suspect in connection with the case.

The 22-year-old was detained in Kulim, Kedah last night and has been remanded for seven days.

“The suspect has been remanded for seven days. To date, five suspects have been detained in connection to this case,” he said.

Kevin Morais’ body was found stuffed in a cement-filled drum in Subang on Wednesday morning after one of the seven suspects in the case, including two women and a child, led police to the scene.

Police investigations revealed that the two women and the child had no connection with the murder.

Kevin Morais, 55, was last seen leaving his condominium unit at Menara Duta, Kuala Lumpur on Sept 4, heading for his office in Putrajaya in a Proton Perdana bearing the registration plate WA6264Q.

Police believe the motive behind his murder was related to an ongoing case he was handling that involved a doctor at a military hospital.
