KOTA BHARU: Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa has described the Kelantan Keluarga Malaysia Aspirations (AKM) tour which ends today as a successful event which achieved its goal of bringing government services to the people.

He said all the ministries and agencies involved throughout the three days of the sixth edition of the AKM tour had planned and managed their respective booths very well and the activities organised managed to attract more visitors than the initial target of 50,000 people.

"I looked at all the ministries and agencies (involved), maybe because this is the sixth in the series (of the tour) they are now all experienced. I see the performances and programmes they have put up are also much more interesting," he told reporters after observing the Kelantan 'RIUH X JAKM' arts programme held in conjunction with Kelantan AKM at the Cultural Centre here, today.

Annuar, who was also the coordinator of Kelantan AKM, said the event's success would also give encouragement to the hosts of the next edition.

"This is because we know that the subsequent hosts will organise the same programme (AKM tour) in August and September, which as we know, are the National Day and Malaysia Day months," he said.

Meanwhile, in a statement, the Kelantan AKM Secretariat said that the tour which began on Friday and ends today had received 71,335 visitors as of 6 pm.

Kelantan is the sixth location of the tour led by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (K-KOMM).

Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob officiated Kelantan AKM at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, which is also the main venue of the programme.
