The Kedah Barisan Nasional (BN) has submitted at least three names as prospective candidates for the Sungai Limau by-election on Nov 4.

Its chairman, Datuk Mukhriz Tun Mahathir said the list would be submitted to BN deputy chairman, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Oct 16.

"The names are there. I cannot reveal...wait," he told reporters after a meeting with new divisional Wanita, Youth and Puteri chiefs from all over Kedah, here, Monday.

Mukhriz said the UMNO and BN machinery has been fully mobilised and have started going down to the field to face the voters.

The Sungai Limau state seat which comes under the Jerai Parliament fell vacant following the death of former Kedah Menteri Besar Tan Sri Azizan Abdul Razak due to heart complications and diabetes, on Sept 26.

In the 13th general election (GE13), Azizan retained the seat for the fifth consecutive term with a 2,774 majority in a four-corner fight including his cousin, Mohd Fazillah Mohd Ali who represented BN.

The by-election is the second after GE13 with the first being at the Kuala Besut state seat on July 24.
