KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Port Bhd was named the recipient of the Prime Minister's Award at the Industry Excellence Awards (AKI) 2020.

In a statement, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) said the award was presented by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Tuesday

Johor Port was also named as the winner in the Services Sector Award in Category 4 (for domestic companies with a turnover of more than RM100 million).

Meanwhile, Longi (Kuching) Sdn Bhd was named as the Most Promising Company and ASM Technology (M) Sdn Bhd won the Industry4WRD Excellence Award.

MITI said the 27th edition of the AKI saw the presentation of 11 awards, with the participation of 78 companies from the manufacturing and manufacturing-related services sectors.

It said the award was to recognise excellence in the implementation of governance that ensures employee well-being, the application of the latest technology in operations, as well as the implementation of effective business strategies to ensure the best delivery of the company's products or services.

The AKI 2020 entrants were evaluated by a jury panel who were guided by the Malaysian Business Excellence Framework (MBEF), an evaluation framework based on the Business Excellence Framework (BEF) which is recognised globally and adopted by more than 83 countries and 96 award administrators worldwide.
