"I hope to celebrate Aidilfitri with mum next year," said Aishah Azizul Raheem, the eldest daughter of a Malaysian woman serving jail sentence in Sweden.

Aishah,14, said her Aidilfitri celebration this year was incomplete without the presence of her mother Shalwati Norshal.

"I miss her but it is cushioned by dad's presence," she told reporters after attending an Aidilfitri event of the Association of Women Civil Servants (Puspanita) of Kelantan Federal Development Department and the Kelantan Media Club, here today.

Meanwhile, Shalwati's sister, Shaleena said Azizul Raheem's return to Malaysia on July 15 had lifted the Aidilfitri spirit of the four siblings.

"They were sad during Aidilfitri. Most notable was the youngest Ariff who was close to the couple. They cannot wait for their mother's return," she added.

Shalwati is expected to return to Malaysia on October 2 after serving a jail sentence for beating her four children in September 2010.

On March 29, Tourism Malaysia officer Azizul Raheem was sentenced 10 months jail while Shalwati was sentenced 14 months jail by Solna district court, Stockholm.

Their jail sentences were later reduced and they only need to serve one-third of the total.
