KOTA KINABALU:Sabah Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor was sworn in as Sabah Chief Minister at the State Palace here on Tuesday.

Hajiji, 65, who is also the Sulaman State Assemblyman (ADUN) took the oath of office at 10.35 am before the Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.

The swearing-in ceremony was also attended by Juhar's wife, Toh Puan Norlidah RM Jasni, State Assemblymen (ADUN) from PN, Barisan Nasional (BN) and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS).

Also present were senior state government officials.

The swearing-in ceremony ended the issue of the appointment of the Chief Minister of Sabah which lasted for two days.

On Monday, Hajiji received a letter from Juhar to attend the swearing-in ceremony as the new Sabah Chief Minister.

The letter was handed over a few hours after the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) unanimously elected the Sulaman State Assemblyman (ADUN) to hold the post of Sabah Chief Minister.

In the 16th Sabah State Election (PRN) last Saturday, GRS announced the success of forming the state government after obtaining 38 State Assembly (DUN) seats.

It was after GRS ally PN, won 17 seats, BN 14 seats and PBS seven seats.

Also sworn in at the ceremony today were Deputy Chief Ministers, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan and Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam.

State ministers Datuk Jahid Jahim (Rural Development) and Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun (Works) also took their oath.
