A fruit wholesaler lost RM10,000 in a break-in by two men through the roof of the premise in Jasin Industrial Area here on Friday.

Jasin police chief DSP Muhd Nur Hishamuddin Hashim said the incident was believed to have taken place at 6.50am after a security guard saw two persons climbing the building roof believed to escape.

He said the security guard alerted several workers who tried to surround the thieves but failed as they had fled.

"Initial investigation found the two men entered the premise through the roof before cutting the closed circuit television cable in the ceiling," he told reporters here Saturday.

He said the burglars made their way to the safe on the second floor and managed to drill open the vault and run off with RM10,000 in cash.
