Four people armed with two machetes escaped with RM100,000 in various currencies after robbing a money changer outlet at Jalan Equine, Seri Kembangan, here on Wednesday.

Serdang police chief ACP Razimi Ahmad said the robbers wearing full-faced helmets struck the outlet at 6.30pm.

"After failing to remove the sliding glass pane off the counter, two of the suspects kicked the counter's door before escaping with the cash.

"Initial investigations found that the premises have been operating for a month and not equipped with alarm and CCTV," he told Bernama.

The 26-year-old worker was not harmed.
