An express bus driver pleaded not guilty at the Traffic Court here today to a charge of driving dangerously and with undue care, four months ago.

Kadershah Sabaruddin, 51, allegedly crashed his bus into 10 other vehicles at KM 265.8, southbound along the North-South Expressway around 2.45pm on July 10.

He faces Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which carries a maximum fine of RM10,000 and a jail term of 12 months on conviction.

Prosecuting officer Inspector Kelvin Meng proposed RM5,000 as bail, but the accused appealed for a reduced amount saying he was currently unemployed, with dependents.

Magistrate Siti Hanum Mohmad Sah set bail at RM4,000 with one surety, and Jan 4, 2017, for re-mention. -- BERNAMA
