Thailand has reported 15 new COVID-19 cases and zero deaths, bringing the tally of infections to 2,922 and fatalities remain at 51.

Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) spokesman Thaweesilp Wissanuyothin said a total of 2,594 cases had recovered and discharged from hospitals while 277 were still warded.

He said two of the 15 new cases reported were from the southern province of Yala following active case finding.

"Thailand has been recording a lower number of new positive COVID-19 cases. It is a good sign, however, we must closely monitor the situation and intensify active case finding.

"We must continue to practice the new normal until a vaccine has been found. Otherwise, we will see another spike of new cases," he said at COVID-19 daily briefing here today.

Bangkok has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 1,481 of the 2,922 cumulative cases reported in the kingdom followed by Phuket (205), Nonthaburi (156), Samut Prahkan (111) and Yala (108).
