KUALA LUMPUR: As of midnight Sunday (July 10), Malaysia detected a total of 3,264 new COVID-19 cases, taking the cumulative total to 4,595,974.

According to the Ministry of Health, 3,259 cases were local transmissions, while five were new imported cases.

MOH recorded a total of 2,703 new recoveries, bringing the overall total number of those recovered and discharged to 4,524,281.

Meanwhile, there are 35,882 active cases currently, with 43 patients admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU) and 26 of them require ventilator support.

Based on the COVIDNOW portal, there were two new COVID-related deaths registered yesterday.

The country has lost a total of 35,811 to the virus, since the pandemic hit the country. 

Malaysia administered 5,277 vaccine doses on Sunday, with 85.9 per cent of the population having received at least one dose, while 83.7 per cent are fully vaccinated and 49.5 per cent have received booster jabs.
