KUALA LUMPUR: The Conditional Movement Control Order (PKPB) in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor, which is scheduled to end tomorrow, has been extended for another 14 days until November 9.
Senior Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the extension was made due to the increase in positive cases besides the evaluation of the Ministry of Health (MOH) which found that there were still high-risk locations for the transmission of COVID-19.
"The government has previously announced CMCO throughout Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor from October 14 to October 27, 2020.
"However, so far the risk assessment conducted by members of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) found that there are still high risk locations for the transmission of COVID-19-19 in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor.
"Taking into account this risk assessment, the government has agreed to extend the CMCO order in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya for another 14 days from October 27 to November 9, 2020," he said in a press conference on Monday.
Commenting further, Ismail Sabri said, the standard operating procedure (SOP) of CMCO is the same as set before.
