#KiniNews: Gov't extends CMCO in KL, S'gor, Sabah and several localities in other states

The conditional movement control order (MCO) in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Sabah and several localities in other states has been extended until Jan 14, 2021, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said the government decided on this after taking the advice and risk assessment of the Health Ministry (MOH) based on the trend and increase in positive Covid-19 cases in these areas and the emergence of new clusters in Kuala Lumpur.

Ismail said for the other states, the extension of the conditional MCO will also affect Southwest Mukim 12 and Northeast Mukim 13 in Penang; Seremban in Negeri Sembilan; and Johor Bahru and Batu Pahat in Johor.

The conditional movement control order (MCO) in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Sabah and several localities in other states has been extended until Dec 31, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said the government made this decision following the advice and risk assessment of the Health Ministry, based on the trend and rising positive cases of Covid-19 in these places. The CMCO in these three states was scheduled to end on Dec 20.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry today reported 1,683 new Covid-19 cases and no new deaths.

#KiniNews: Gov’t ends CMCO in Kedah, Terengganu, Johor, Melaka

The National Security Council (NSC) has lifted the state-wide conditional movement control order (MCO) previously imposed on Terengganu and Malacca.

Beginning Nov 21, the order will be lifted for most parts of Kedah and Johor as well, said Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

In Kedah, the conditional MCO has been extended for Kulim until Dec 6. In Johor, the order has been extended for another two weeks for Mersing and Kota Tinggi.

Starting tomorrow, the four states minus these three districts will be under a more relaxed recovery MCO.

Kelantan, meanwhile, will be placed under a two-week conditional MCO beginning tomorrow (Nov 21) until Dec 6 due to a recent spike in infections there.

#KiniNews: CMCO in Seremban; M'sia reports 1054 new cases, 12 deaths

The Seremban district in Negeri Sembilan will be placed under the conditional movement control order (MCO) between Nov 5 to Nov 18 to curb the spread of Covid-19.

This was decided by the National Security Council (NSC) today.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry reported 1,054 new Covid-19 cases and a record-setting 12 deaths in a 24-hour period ending noon today.

#KiniNews: Management, supervisory staff in CMCO areas ordered to work from home

The government has ordered the public and private workers in management and supervisory positions in areas under conditional movement control order (MCO) to work from home starting Oct 22.

Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this is to keep Covid-19 cases in check by reducing the number of people working in offices and factories.

He said a list of sectors affected will be issued by the International Trade and Industry Ministry.

#KiniNews: Conditional MCO for KL, S'gor and Putrajaya

A conditional movement control order (MCO) will be imposed in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor effective from 12.01am on October 14 until the October 27.

Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob the decision was reached at a special National Security Council meeting, after receiving the advice of the Health Ministry (MOH) and taking into consideration the increasing cases and spread of Covid-19 such as in Klang, Petaling and Gombak.

Ismail also asid that the government will implement the CMCO throughout Sabah effective from 12.01am on October 13 until October 26.

The National Security Council (NSC) has allowed weddings to proceed in conditional movement control order (MCO) areas with conditions.

Additionally, according to Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob, guests from outside conditional MCO areas would be allowed to attend the wedding ceremonies.

Wedding guests arriving from outside of conditional MCO areas will need to bring along their invitation cards to show police manning roadblocks when asked.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry reported 354 new cases of Covid-19 and six deaths, all in Sabah, with more patients requiring intensive care today.

#KiniNews: Anwar set to meet Agong, CMCO in Klang, 375 new cases

Anwar Ibrahim revealed he has been granted an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah at Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur next Tuesday.

Expressing gratitude to His Majesty, the opposition leader said he would present documentation of the “strong and convincing” support for him to form the federal government.

The Health Ministry wants to see the outcome of the conditional movement control order (CMCO) first before advising Putrajaya on reopening more economic sectors.

Its director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said they are monitoring the situation and would be able to tell in two weeks' time.

"We have given relaxation through the conditional MCO which started on May 4, and hopefully in two weeks, we will monitor the progress to see if there is an increase in the number of new cases or otherwise.

"Before more economic sectors can be reopened, especially those like hair styling services, we need to monitor the situation before advising the prime minister," he told a press conference in Putrajaya.

#KiniNews: Zahid's daughter fined RM800, no more curfew under CMCO

The daughter of Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Nurulhidayah, was fined RM800 by the Magistrate's Court in Putrajaya today for violating the movement control order (MCO) last month.

Her husband Saiful Nizam was also fined RM800.

Magistrate Shah Wirah Abdul Halim meted out the sentences after the two pleaded guilty to charges of breaching Section 3(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2020.

In a separate development, Senior Minister (security cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the government will no longer enforce the 10pm to 6am curfew or inter-district travel restrictions.
