CMCO in all states in the Peninsula except Perlis, Kelantan, Pahang

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has decided to implement the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in all states in Peninsula Malaysia except Perlis, Pahang and Kelantan.

Senior Minister (Defence Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the enforcement period is for four weeks from November 9 until December 6.

“MOH (Ministry of Health Malaysia) has carried out risk assessment and found that there is an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases and the rate of infectivity in these states.

“The implementation of CMCO is to enable the MOH to conduct targeted screening and curb the spread of COVID-19 in the community.

“CMCO is implemented in all states in Peninsular Malaysia except for three states, namely Perlis, Pahang and Kelantan. Other states are all subject to RMCO," he said in a daily press conference on Saturday.

He added that the standard operating procedures for the CMCO are the same as those implemented previously.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri stressed that the implementation of CMCO in the states in the Peninsula will also cover the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Selangor and Sabah which should end on 9 November 2020.

For the states of Kelantan, Pahang and Perlis, which are currently under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), cross-state movements are also not allowed.

"However, cross-district movement in these three states is allowed as usual. For the state of Sarawak, cross-state movements from the Peninsula, Sabah and Labuan are not allowed except with the permission of the PDRM.

"Cross-district movement in the state of Sarawak is allowed except to Kuching district," he added.
