Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman respects the decision of Datuk Seri Ahmad Said to reject his appointment as State Housing and Local Government Committee deputy chairman.

He said the appointment was still at the initial stage and although announced yesterday, the letters of appointment had yet to be issued.

He said the state government had not received any response from the Kijal State Assemblyman.

"It is up to Ahmad Said to reject or otherwise. To date, I have not received any indication from him. It was only an announcement and after this it will be followed up with appointment letters..accept or otherwise it is up to them.

"I don't know (if) the appointment has embarrassed him and everyone has his own stand..so we wait until the appointment letter is issued early next month," he told reporters after attending the Terengganu Police Contingent Open House here, today.

Yesterday, Ahmad Razif announced the restructuring of the State Executive Councillors (exco)'s portfolios involving certain additions and duty changes effective Aug 1 but did not involve any change in the number of excos.
