Twenty bodies, believed to be victims of human trafficking, were exhumed in Sector A, Bukit Wang Burma, Wang Kelian, Perlis as at 4.40 pm Friday.

Bukit Aman Assistant chief of the Inspector-General of Police Secretariat (Corporate Communications) ACP Datin Asmawati Ahmad said the number of bodies exhumed on Friday brought the total to 35 since the work of excavating the areas began last Monday.

She said the police forensic team would continue excavating the areas and exhuming bodies in other identified burial sites.

Last Monday, inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar announced the discovery of 139 graves at 28 human trafficking transit camps located between Kampung Wai and Tangga 100 Felcra in Perlis.
