Veteran actor and comedian Ahmad Busu died of a stroke at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang today. He was 60.

"Initially, Ahmad had a fever before he became unconscious. He died upon admission at the hospital at 7.05pm," said Seniman Malaysia committee member Meary Chu Abdullah when contacted.

She said Ahmad's remains would be taken to his house at Taman Sri Andalas, Klang and he would be buried at the Sungai Sirih Muslim Cemetery, Klang at 9am tomorrow.

"We will collect a donation for his widow and children for the funeral arrangement," she said.

Hailed from Taipng, Perak, Ahmad leaves behind his wife and four children.

Ahmad, who started his career in theatre in 1978, was synonymous with the character Mat Deris in a long-running comedy series 'Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu'.

Meary said Ahmad was remembered as a kind, humorous and friendly person.
