The Republican presidential candidate and former owner of the Miss Universe pageant, Donald Trump expressed his reaction and possible solutions to Sunday’s major Miss Universe pageant mix-up.

Trump on Twitter said he was extremely sad with what took place during the finale of the 2015 Miss Universe pageant and emphasized that such mishaps would not happen if he remained as the owner.

“Very sad what happened last night at the Miss Universe Pageant. I sold it 6 months ago for a record price. This would never have happened!” he wrote.

Trump’s thoughts did not end there. During his appearance on the NBC’s“Today” show he offered an unusual solution to the problem.

According to Trump, he would make both Miss Philippines (the real winner) and Miss Colombia as equal winners in the competition.

“I’ll tell you what I think I’d do. I think I’d make them a co-winner. It’d be very cool,” Trump said.

“I would recommend that they go have a beautiful ceremony, which is good for the brand and good for Miss Universe, and do a co-winner.”

On Sunday, the pageant's host, comedian Steve Harvey, misread his cue card and initially announced Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, as the winner.

Miss Philippines was named Miss Universe on Sunday in a drama-filled turn worthy of a telenovela.
