Grief filled the air of the cemetery in Karang Tembok, Surabaya on Tuesday night, when family members and hundreds of villagers buried the body of a three and a half-year-old boy who was killed and cemented into a statue by his neighbour.

Local media reported that the gruesome murder of Fahri Khusaeni Romadhon was discovered at noon Tuesday when residents found the boy at the back of his neighbour's house in Jalan Endrosono, Surabaya in the form of a cemented statue.

Without breaking the cement, they could easily identify the body as that of Fahri.

Fahri was reported missing several days ago.

Police had also arrested a 31-year-old man believed to be involved in the case and were investigating the motive of the murder.

The suspect, reported to have a record of mental illness was nabbed Tuesday evening not long after Fahri's body was found.
